Saving marine animals each day

“Peter Wallerstein”

“Just getting up every day knowing that my efforts will have a positive effect on a life is satisfying.”.”

Lots of questions

Our November guest, Peter Wallerstein, is an absolutely amazing individual, who has dedicated 35 years of his life to saving the lives of poor marine animals in trouble. Our camp kids could feel his tender heart and warmed up to him immediately.

He’s got so many fascinating stories that are both heart-breaking and warming. We would like to share one of the rescue stories from 1997 here:

Our kids are already so loving but we believe that it is important to inspire them to actually take action to carry out their compassion. Kindness is more than a feeling. It’s an action. We trust that our kids have learned a ton from Peter’s stories and will follow his advice on what to do and not to do when meeting wildlife animals and protecting their environment.

November Special Guest

Peter Wallerstein is a marine animal rescue specialist.

A native of New England, Wallerstein first coordinated international whale protection campaigns in the icy and treacherous waters of the Bering Sea and North Atlantic Ocean. When he was appointed as the Pacific Director of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an international marine wildlife conservation organization established in 1977 to end the destruction of habitats and the slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans, Wallerstein initially entered into a beleaguered relationship with Los Angeles County and City officials who unknowingly were using inappropriate and harmful methods to deal with stranded and trapped marine animals.
