Elisa Insua’s work

Featured in BBC, Vogue Spain, and galleries all around the world, artist Elisa Insua has truly perfected the craft of turning one’s trash into another person’s treasure. Instead of throwing away materials that would live on the Earth for thousands of years in landfills, Elisa’s artwork gives new life to those items. By compiling discarded objects varying from old lotion bottles and cassette tapes to broken chains and hair combs, Elisa creates entirely new imagery that vibrates with energy.

The kids have been preparing for weeks ahead of time by gathering materials from in and around their homes. Look how unique each of their creations turned out! Try playing a round of “I Spy” with these artworks. How many different types of objects and materials are in each artwork? What kind of objects and materials do you see? Can you tell if they are re-used and/or recycled materials?

Stay tuned for more announcements about upcoming Special camps. Meanwhile, take a closer peek at the work of our TaleTree camp kids! ;-)
