Cindy Norris

Artist & Book author

What have you noticed in the illustration above? When the creator, Cindy Norris, doodled it, she just did it for fun, but then great ideas came to her mind later. Then she started thinking about aliens that have landed in the backyard of this boy who loves peanut butter. Our kids noticed how there is a sleepy alien, a big-tutted one, and the most controlling one on top of a few other alien friends :)

Above, Cindy’s story about a dragon captured in the Zoo.

One of the kids said the dragon’s thoughts should be displayed in the body and that’s exactly what Cindy had been thinking about doing :)

Cindy showed how a story can arise after you draw something without having a story in mind first. She invited our kids to start thinking together with her and make a story. Our Kids so much fun creating a random crazy story about this boy - his name ended up being “Aron John” and he is making 50 cakes for his dogs and zillions of other cakes for his cats :)

Why don’t you sit down with your family and play a game of creating a story around your drawing?!
